I am a series type of reader but I do enjoy stand-alone every once in a while。 This book was so good I felt like I got the history of a series with a beautiful story。 I love the struggle of the mind and heart that is played and internalized。 The feeling of something being lost and felt but not remembered， sometimes that feels just too little relevant。 The battles and trying to figure out who the bad guy is and why the actions were taken were intense。 The bonds of those we love and choose as fami I am a series type of reader but I do enjoy stand-alone every once in a while。 This book was so good I felt like I got the history of a series with a beautiful story。 I love the struggle of the mind and heart that is played and internalized。 The feeling of something being lost and felt but not remembered， sometimes that feels just too little relevant。 The battles and trying to figure out who the bad guy is and why the actions were taken were intense。 The bonds of those we love and choose as family are strong in this story and it was nice to read because I love chosen family tropes。 The end was beautiful with a level of sympathy and karma that was expected but also not expected。 I would have been upset in the shoes of the main character although I would not want to know the level of grief that could draw a person to those actions。 。。。more

This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers。 To view it， click here。 I love everything that LJ writes， so I am not surprised that this is another great read！ The storyline for all of the Forgotten Kingdoms are similar， but I absolutely love how LJ Andrews was able to take this and make it her own。 The trials that the main characters had to overcome， I felt， were different from the others in the series that I have read。 Instead of just being kidnapped by some random guy， she ends up in this world and has to figure things out essentially on her own for a while。 I a I love everything that LJ writes， so I am not surprised that this is another great read！ The storyline for all of the Forgotten Kingdoms are similar， but I absolutely love how LJ Andrews was able to take this and make it her own。 The trials that the main characters had to overcome， I felt， were different from the others in the series that I have read。 Instead of just being kidnapped by some random guy， she ends up in this world and has to figure things out essentially on her own for a while。 I also had a huge "*gasp* I KNEW IT！" moment when it came to Desitin。 He just wasn't giving me the best princely vibes but I never would have guessed who he actually was！ Loved this read and will continue to love LJ 。。。more

✨ARC Review✨Love LJ Andrews with all my heart and soul。 This follows a similar formula of the books of her Broken Kingdoms series but it wasn’t quite on that level of amazing。 Perhaps that’s because it’s a standalone。 Another reviewer mentioned it felt “flat” and I agree。 But it’s still an enjoyable read， especially the second half， and I’m interested in the others in the series。

LJ Andrews just gets me。 I received this ARC and was excited to read a standalone by one of my fave authors！ I had read the first book in this standalone series so I knew the premise of the Forgotten Kingdoms。 This book was everything I wanted it to be and more！！ I was laughing out loud at the parts when a modern woman mixes with a medieval society （Cy trying to figure out a phone LOL）。 Kage and Adira were such an amazing couple！ I loved that they love each other so much but also love to challen LJ Andrews just gets me。 I received this ARC and was excited to read a standalone by one of my fave authors！ I had read the first book in this standalone series so I knew the premise of the Forgotten Kingdoms。 This book was everything I wanted it to be and more！！ I was laughing out loud at the parts when a modern woman mixes with a medieval society （Cy trying to figure out a phone LOL）。 Kage and Adira were such an amazing couple！ I loved that they love each other so much but also love to challenge and annoy each other。 And the smut was 🤌🏽🤌🏽🤌🏽🥵🥵🥵I honestly thought this book did a great job of answering all the questions and wrapping everything up！ I did not guess all the twists and turns， so that was nice to be surprised。 Read this book if you love Broken Kingdoms and the Ever Seas book， but also read this book if you want to be introduced to your new fave author！！ P。 S。 The friend group is always my favourite part， I love the banter between them。 。。。more

LJ Andrews is a wonderful， awesome writer。 I have followed her since the beginning。 This is a terrific fantasy romance with good characters and plot and world building。 The FMC and MMC are perfect together。 I will not give any spoilers。 You may get those from other reviews。 Do yourself a favor and get this book today。 I promise you once you read it， you will want to read all her books and series。 She is that good and I wish LJ Andrews all the best。

I received this book as an ARC， so thank you to the author。Overall I really enjoyed Of Mischief and Mages。 The magic system and world were excellent。 The characters were solid and fleshed out well throughout the novel。 I particularly liked that our FMC， Adira， was quite pragmatic and level headed。 It made her so much more likable and easier to cheer for。 Our MMC， Kage， starts out quite suspicious and pessimistic which comes out in a dry humour。 As the story develops we see his vulnerability， yea I received this book as an ARC， so thank you to the author。Overall I really enjoyed Of Mischief and Mages。 The magic system and world were excellent。 The characters were solid and fleshed out well throughout the novel。 I particularly liked that our FMC， Adira， was quite pragmatic and level headed。 It made her so much more likable and easier to cheer for。 Our MMC， Kage， starts out quite suspicious and pessimistic which comes out in a dry humour。 As the story develops we see his vulnerability， yearning and hope come out。 Attention to character development extended to the wider cast and 'found family' which I also found refreshing for a romantasy type novel。The romance is slow burn which I personally like。 There are some spicy scenes but they don't overpower or diminish from the story。 It's open door and there are a few scenes present， but the smut isn't explicit。 Definitely the story isn't being carried by it。My struggles with the book came from the first 30%。There was obviously a lot of world building and setting up of the magic system needed， but to me the first part read quite dry。 The characters were introduced but I felt like they didn't really start to develop or be explored with too much depth until after this point。 I feel like it took the same amount of time for me to read the first 30% as it did for me to read the last 70%。A couple of plot events felt a little reused from her previous novels which didn't detract from or cheapen the story， but it was noticeable。Overall a really enjoyable read with a great world， great magic system， and a good number of enjoyable characters that are easy to cheer for。 The dry start is why I've gone with a 4 star review。 Andrews is a great story teller but this is not my favourite story of hers， however， she has some hard acts to follow in her bibliography。 。。。more

4。5/5⭐️This book is part of a collection of standalone Romantasy novels， Forgotten Kingdoms。 LJ Andrews has given us a wonderful romantasy read！ It was a bit of a slow start for me， but definitely picked up and drew me in。 I absolutely loved the main characters， Kage and Adira。 I loved following their story and learning of their past。 The side characters are so entertaining and loveable。 There is lots of magic， action， humor， twist and turns and some delicious spice！
